Join us to listen to Athena Zitrou, Head of Business Analytics at Scottish Water discuss the SW Data & Analytics Journey.

The second talk will be Luis Pereira, Data Engineer at BJSS, specialising in Cloud-based Data Solutions will present on lessons learnt as a self taught data engineer.

Athena Zitrou is the Head of Business Analytics at Scottish Water, providing strategic & thought leadership for Analytics in a transforming organisation. Athena is leading a team of data scientists, data engineers and solutions developers and her belief is that organisations should leverage digital technology to infuse analytics into real-time decision-making.
Athena has both commercial and academic experience. As a researcher, she has worked on projects in sectors such as nuclear power and offshore wind. Having been initially trained in Mathematics, Athena has a PhD in Management Science from the University of Strathclyde.

Luis Pereira is a Data Engineer at BJSS, specialising in cloud-based data solutions. With a unique background transitioning from civil engineering to data engineering, Luis has worked across diverse sectors including automotive manufacturing, aerospace, e-commerce, and marketing analytics. He’s led data teams and mentors emerging engineers. Luis is passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation and efficiency. His talk will focus on lessons learned during his career transition from traditional engineering to data engineering.

Shannon McKechnie from MBN Solutions will be the chair for the event.

The format will be 2 x presentations followed by Q&A.
