What we’re about
This groups mission is to empower women to achieve our personal fitness and health goals while creating friendships outdoors. This group is for women with a flexible schedule who are available weekdays, during the time that most are in school or working.
This group is for women, of any age, who enjoy active outdoor pursuits. For now the focus will be on meeting in London on a paved bike trail for bikes, walks, or runs. There will be a more social aspect that can include Crossnet volleyball, lawn games, or some frisbee golf in parks, with a sprinkling of trips to bike rail trails out of London. This means you should have your own transportation, bike, and bike rack for your car, or the ability to stow your bike in your car for transport.
* I am a recreational bike rider. London events: 30 minute ride, break, 30 minute ride back, at most, moderate constant pace. I ride an average bike with panniers.
If there is interest, I hope to collaborate on a meet for an overnight wilderness backpack and/or bike tour.
Please join if you feel you can come to 2 events/ month so others can get to know you and a sisterhood can form. I’d rather have fewer members who are active who get to know each other. If you find life gets super busy and you can't make it as much, please let me know.
This is a private group meaning your member info will not be shared with the general public, nor our meetup details. This is for safety, and for feeling free to make comments and share information online with one another.
Liability:
I assume no liability for accidents or other mishaps that may happen to a member during an event, or the ride to or from, the event. Each member needs to participate within her comfort level and take responsibility for her own safety. Please follow directions or take advice that might keep you safe.
Preparedness:
Each member needs to come prepared for the activity she signs up for. That includes starting out with enough energy for the event, bringing water, snacks as needed, and bringing the proper equipment as outlined for the event.
Donations:
Group membership is free at present. After you’ve been out a few times and know you'd like to stay with the group, donations are strongly encouraged to offset the cost of this Meetup.
Happy Trails!
