Established in 2009, we are a dynamic group of professionals that view State College as a great place to call home. It's no secret that State College is a transient town. We understand it can be difficult to socialize and feel close to the community. SCYP creates a welcoming environment for all young professionals. We may be a group young professionals, but at heart this is a organization to socialize. Our members are typically between the ages of 22 and 45, but we do not have an age requirement. If you are young at heart and have a passion for our area, you're welcome...no encouraged...to join!

No matter what brings you to the State College area, we are one community. At SCYP, we believe in being active and involved in making our community a better place. We volunteer and fundraise with a passion and energy for everyone living in Happy Valley.
Work
Everyoneβs favorite subject! Chances are you might have moved to State College for a new job or potentially graduate school (thatβs work, right?) We get it. We work here, too! SCYP provides a year-round forum for young professionals to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. No matter your profession, together we build a foundation upon which State College can build its future.

Life canβt be all work β We have some fun along! State College has an abundance of opportunities to kick back, relax, and have fun. Whether you are settling down or passing through, we may be colleagues and neighbors, but most of all, we are friends.Whether itβs on the softball field, at a happy hour, or volunteering, SCYP offers events to meet new people and make new friends.

You're invited to join the State College Young Professionals at the semi-annual meeting on November 14th from 6-8PM at the Ferguson Township Municipal Building.
This is a fantastic opportunity to share your ideas and opinions, and help shape the future of the organization. We encourage all members to attend and provide feedback and suggestions for future events and programs.
In addition, we will be discussing vacant board positions, so if you're interested in taking on a leadership role within the organization, this is the perfect chance to learn more and get involved.

We hope to see you there!! - SCYP Volunteer: Red Kettle Bell RingingSam's Club, State College, PA
Help to spread holiday cheer and give back to our community! SCYP will be ringing the bells for donations as part of the Red Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army.
Come meet us outside the entrance to Sam's Club. We will be covering two shifts: 10am - 12pm and 12pm - 2pm. Please fill out the Google form here to RSVP for one or both shifts: https://forms.gle/cHgWCPM4ihTTV3wj6
Come dressed for the weather. A holiday hat and/or festive attire are strongly encouraged! We will be provided with the iconic red kettle, Red Salvation Army aprons (optional), and of course bells to ring!
SCYP is looking for 2-4 volunteers per shift. Children with adult supervision are welcome to attend this event!
All money raised stays local and supports programs helping those in need within the community! Interested in helping out but unable to donate your time? Join us at Red Horse Tavern this December for trivia night!
Red Horse Tavern is hosting trivia, so join us for a fun night! This is a Red Horse Tavern event but we have reserved seats. There will NOT be a check-in table, but we'll let you know where we are in the event discussion.
We encourage new and prospective members to come to this small group event. Trivia begins at 7:00 PM, but please arrive by 6:30 PM.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Instead of our monthly Sips, please join us on Friday, December 13th, from 6-9 PM at the Ramada State College for our annual holiday party. Come by in your most festive holiday wear for an evening filled with laughter, networking, and a grand celebration to cap off the year! There will be appetizers provided and a cash bar.
Join in on the holiday cheer with exciting and festive games that'll add an extra layer of joy to the celebration!
Just like Sips, members enter the party for free! Not a member yet? Guests pay only $15 at the door, payable in cash, check, or credit card. The $15 fee will be waived if you purchase a new SCYP membership by the end of the night.
