San Diego Ladies Hiking and Walking with Dogs

I canceled the Stanley Peak hike I was going to lead on this day. I think this hike is more fun. Please join me & Maggie on an easy Urban dog hike starting at the historic Presidio Park (restrooms at the start). We will go uphill in the park, walk in Mission Hills to the end of Pine St. Then along Pine to Witherby to Sunset then cross Juan St to Barrio Donas for unique mouth watering donuts & coffee and bathroom break.

Join me and Maggie on a moderate uphill out & back dog hike to the top of Double Peak where there a lovely views of the area. Let's get some cardio before Thanksgiving. We will meet at the Trailhead at Discovery Park in San Marcos. Please wear appropriate footwear and sun protection as there is no shade. Pack plenty of water for yourself and your dog. We will take a snack & water break at the top. There are restrooms at the park and at the top of Double Peak. You can read more about the hike here:

Let's take advantage of beautiful Lake Poway and hike on a loop with our dogs. This is a moderate 5.3 mile walk starting the Blue Sky trail to Poway Lake. We will also circumnavigate the lake and return back to our start. The dogs love this route because of the good smells, wildlife, and the opportunity to hang out with their person while doing one of their favorite activities. A great hike for our dogs and a good cardio workout for pet parents. Call or text 858-735-4527 if lost or late. There's a chemical toilet at the start of the hike, and some along the way with a nice flush toilet near the Poway Lake Store.

DOG SAFETY: Please allow dogs their space. Use a maximum 6' long non-retractable leash.

MEET: Rendezvous at the information kiosk near the porta-potty and picnic table. We will leave NLT 8:10.

BRING: Water for your dog, food and water for yourself, sun protection, and your other safety essentials. Poles are optional.

CJoin me & Maggie on a moderate 6+ mi hike to Bernardo Mountain Summit. This is an out and back hike that begins from Piedras Pintadas Parking lot rather than the area off Hwy 15 as noted in AllTrails. This is an moderate trail with 889' elevation. The 1st 2 miles are flat and once we get to the creek crossing we will start the uphill climb. There's a narrow wood bridge to cross. There may be poison oak in that area so we want to keep our dogs close to us. A trek pole is recommended as the route up is rocky and there will be mild steep areas downhill. We will take a short break at the summit, enjoy the 360 degree views and return to our start.

There is one chemical toilet at the parking lot. BRING enough water for your dog and yourself and wear sun protection.

If you're more than 5 minutes late, you'll be marked as a "no-show".

CONTROL your dog so that nose-to-nose and nose-to-behind interactions are avoided, especially at the beginning of the hike.

ALLOW space between dogs to minimize conflict. IF YOUR DOG IS REACTIVE, please walk behind the group.

Leash rules: PLEASE NO RETRACTABLE OR LONG LEASHES. Please keep leashes at 6 feet long or shorter.

Join me and Maggie on an easy bridal trail/neighborhood walk my neighborhood bridal trail, we will pass horses, goat & dogs that will come up to their backyard fence & bark at us. There will be some walking on paved streets and some uphill. Nothing too difficult.
Please pack plenty of water for yourself and your dog. Sun protection as well.

After the hike, we will meet back in my backyard for free "off-leash" playtime, if you're comfortable with that.
I will serve coffee from Starbucks and pastries from a local bakery. I have a pool and hopefully your dog will not want to go swimming as our pool is off-limits to dog hair!
