**NOTE: hike starts at Stump Beach, not the main park entrance, but a couple of miles past the park entrance to the North. The PIN will not change to STUMP BEACH.**
For Petaluma carpool or points south Please text me at 707-584-1129. Carpool will leave at 7:00 AM. The road is long and winding in places. Please leave earlier than you GPS says due to the potential for slow trucks or RVs

Please Park at Stump Beach which is the 2nd entrance that is north of the main entrance. Stump beach parking is free so no need for a park pass or money. We will hike from Stump beach and go along the bluffs at Salt Point where you will enjoy lots of rock formations and maybe view some Marine Life. At the next junction we will hike up the hill and cross highway one and go East up to the Pigmy Forest and then a prairie then downhill to a part of the trail where San Andreas fault crosses the trail and then on to Plantation, down a dirt road then a single-track trail back to Stump Beach.

On this hike you will be treated to forests, wildflowers, ocean bluffs, mushrooms and a hidden town.

Bring enough food/water for 11 miles
Dress in layers and wear a hat or sunscreen as needed

Driving directions:
Take hwy 101 to River Road and take river road (116) out to the coast go North on hwy 1 past Fort Ross and Jenner. There will be road signs for Salt Point State Park. We will park in the day use area on the west side of hwy 1.
Driving directions from the south: you can stay on hwy 101 and then about 3 miles north of Santa Rosa make a left turn on the River Road off ramp. Stay on River Road till you reach the hwy 1 and 116 junction. Go north on hwy 1 past the town of Jenner. The road here is very narrow and challenging to drive on so please allow at least one extra hour to drive to the park. Go past Fort Ross and Timber cove in. Shortly after that you will see a sign for Salt Point State Park and then On Hwy 1, go past the right turn to Woodside Campground and the left turn for the main entrance.
Take the left turn off Hwy 1 for Stump Beach.
Drive past the left turn to Gerstle Campground.

It's a good idea to confirm these directions with Google Maps and print a copy.
If you want you can also drive to Petaluma get off at East Washington off ramp and then go out on Bodega hwy and drive to the town of Bodega Bay and then follow hwy 1 north to the park. It takes about 1 1/2 hour of driving to get from Petaluma to Salt point. The Petaluma route is more scenic but might take longer.
