Let’s Play Taj Mahal!! @ Phoenix Comics & Games
Details
It’s Northwest India at the beginning of the 18th century. The rule of the Grand Moguls is waning, and the Maharishis and princes seize the opportunity to take control of the region. By influencing the prominent forces, building magnificent palaces, and ensuring a steady supply of commodities, the princes increase their power until the most successful has won.
The goal of the game is to gain the most influence which can be obtained by building palaces and by acquiring commodities. However you must secure the support of important influencers in the region such as the Vizier, the General, the Monk, the Princess, or the Grand Mogul himself! Commodities are gained by seizing control of a region which will help increase your influence.
Taj Mahal, is one of Reiner Knizia’s classics and originally part of the Alea “Big Box” series. Game mechanics include auction, hand management, set collection, and route building.
New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.

(Don't worry, we'll go over the rules on the day, too.)
A few important details:
- This event is scheduled to start at 2pm PLEASE be on time!
I will already be a Phoenix playing another game but it should be done long before then. However please factor traffic & parking into your commute. - Speaking of… It's Cap Hill, so parking can be a challenge. Sorry, it's a walking neighborhood! Phoenix Comics & Games is only about a block from the First Hill Streetcar (Broadway & Denny stop), less than a block from the Capitol Hill light rail station, and very close to several bus lines, though.
- Purchasing something isn't a strict requirement, but it's nice to do since we're using the space. Please support the business if you can!
- If you need to cancel please do so as soon as you know. People on the waitlist and playing that day will appreciate it!
- I open signups for most of my events 1-3 days before pressing the "announce" button here on Meetup; if you want to know about that when it happens and have the opportunity to claim a seat before others, you can join the Seattle Board Games Discord server, where I'll post to let users there know as soon as RSVPs open!
