Seattle Hardware Happy Hour (3H) December 2024!

Seattle Hardware Happy Hour (3H) will be at PostDoc Brewing for our December 2024 event. We have the entire brewhouse reserved (area with the picnic tables) so invite friends and family to our last meetup of 2024.

What We'll Do:
• Have fun!
• Share projects and stories.

Bring Your Projects to Share:
Your projects in any stage of completion from basic concept/idea to working product. We want attendees to share both their successes and failures with fellow makers. (You don't need to bring a project to attend)

Maker Exchange Box:
If you have something to donate to the local maker community... microcontrollers, breadboards, motors, resistors, LEDs, filament... give those projects you abandoned a new life!

For our December Meetup will be doing a Hardware ReUse Gift Swap:

• Hardware ReUse Swap Will Start @ 8pm:
• Attendees that want to participate should bring their 100% functional hardware in a un-warped generic box (i.e. Amaxon box, shoe box). Just fold the flaps (no tape).
• Attendees will draw a numbers to determine the order, and they select and unwrap gifts from the pile in that order — with a twist.
• The person who receives the number 1 will pick a gift (that is not their own) from the pile and open it for all to see).
• The person who receives number 2 then chooses a gift and opens it, and then must decide whether to keep it or swap it for the first player’s gift. Each person in order then gets to select a present, open it and decide whether to keep it or swap it for any other gift someone has already opened.
• Opening of gifts and swapping takes place until all the presents have been chosen. Finally, the person who picked first gets to choose from all the gifts or keep what he/she has already received. In the end, the gift you are holding is the gift you take home.

If you forget a generic box, I will have extra boxes. If you want to participate but don't have hardware to swap I will be bringing some extra hardware to add to the pile so everyone who wants to participate can.

What Type Of Hardware Should You Bring for the Swap?

• Development Boards (i.e. Arduino, Adafruit, Raspberry Pi, SparkFun, Seeed)
• Hardware Projects (i.e. Adafruit, Crowd Supply, Tindie)
• Hardware components (LEDs, resistors, wiring, etc.)

Parking:
There is typically plenty of parking between the parking lot right in front of PostDoc Brewing or street parking of 65th street.

Food:
Food truck Silver Spork will be serving food until 8pm.

Request:
PostDoc Brewing has generously reserves a few tables for our group at no charge. They have been a great partner in our ability to host events over the last few years. Buying beer and/or supporting the food truck is the best way to show your appreciating for them supporting this community. And buying beer to-go (instead of drinking during the event) is another great way to support PostDoc.
