Each line gets 3 songs, between 12-15 minutes including setup. We have a full-size piano and multiple mics (5 in total). Also drums and a bass amp, and we have a lot of folks who just like to collaborate. We wander between Open Mic and Open Jam a lot of the time, and have a separate signup list for, "I'm available for drum/bass/harmony/kalimba/etc.". But if you signup for a timeslot, you are absolutely in control of what happens on stage (unlike a consensus-driven open jam) for your 12-15m.
We also have a sing/play-along at ~9:30, doing something that is generally well-known by the group, and have lyric and chord sheets available. Past examples have included Fire and Rain, Wish You Were Here, and Rainbow Connection.
My co-hosts and I usually mess around on stage before official music time, and that often involves other performers and patrons as well. That is less fixed, but has started up to an hour before signups in the past.

6:30p signup, 7:00 music.
Lottery for those present before 6:30, and as of January 2024 that usually fills us till ~10:30p.
The Hidden Door is located in N. Seattle on the NW side of Aurora Ave N. There is ample FREE parking behind the building, so enter from Whitman Ave N. There are great drinks and plenty of nearby food options!
