Let's Hike! Chavez and Beaver Brook Loop
Details
Chavez and Beaver Brook Loop is a short drive out of town. The largely tree-lined trail descends for the first half of the loop, crisscrossing Beaver Brook as it reaches lower elevations. Save your strength for the return, which climbs about 1000 ft as we make our way back to the trailhead.
This trail has some difficult aspects. At 5 miles, it's a bit longer than many of our other hikes. It is also a steeper climb in some spots and has steep drop-offs that you need to be attentive around. There may be a little bit of scrambling over rocks, and we will be crossing the brook on precarious logs and stones.
Arrive early to avoid parking issues.
