What we’re about
San Gabriel Valley Tech People (SGVTech) is an umbrella group encompassing the multifaceted interests of the members of the San Gabriel Valley Linux User's Group (SGVLUG), one of the oldest and most active Linux User Groups in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Additional groups include: San Gabriel Valley HAK (SGVHAK), Pasadena Ubuntu Hour, SoCal LiveCode User Group, Infosec Syndicate, SGV-AI & Machine Learning Club, and Software Engineering.
We are a community of people interested in topics such as, but not limited to: Linux, open source software, hardware hacking, microcontrollers, security, software, artificial intelligence and machine learning and Ubuntu.

The Southern California Linux Expo is returning to the Pasadena Convention Center March 6-9, 2025. It is the largest community-run open source and free software conference in North America. The conference is over 20 years old and have a diverse audience of IT professionals, hobbyists, educators, and students of all ages and experience levels.
SCALE additionally provides space for co-located events like Postgres @ SCALE, Open Infra Days, etc.SGVTechs have participated as volunteers, speakers, and attendees.
The Call for Presenters is open till November 1, 2024 Share your experience and expertise with the SCALE audience on topics like Developer, Embedded Linux, FOSS @ Home, Kernel & Low Level systems, Security, System Infratructure.
