Fahnestock State Park, 5 miles of Laughter and Good Old Fashioned Fun!

Dan and I will be joining Dennis and Grace from The Hiking Group - Ct & NY for our yearly joint group fun!

Clarence Fahnestock State Park Trails. @5 Miles. Elevation gain @1350 ft. Expect to exert yourself as we climb this pretty little mountain. You should be in good cardio shape for this climb. At times we will navigate rugged terrain (rocks/ tree roots). We will be hiking a loop that consists of the Fahnestock (Blue), Route Hill Bypass (Green) and School Mountain (White) trails. We will ascend a mountain along our trek. Once we complete the summit, and enjoy the beautiful view, there is a long, more leisurely hike out where we will get to see the remnants of old stone walls and foundations. We will continue hiking by small streams and a small meadow.

After the hike for those interested, we will dine at El Coyote Restaurant in Garrison, NY.

We are a social group that values laughter, good conversation, and comradery. That being said, our participants need to be active people who hike on a regular basis. Please be able to hike at a relaxed pace 1.8 - 2.0 mph. Please bring maps, wear hiking boots, first aid supplies, snacks and lots of water. IF YOU HAVE A NEED FOR SPEED THIS IS NOT THE HIKE FOR YOU.
