Wales Trip - Slate Mine - Zip Lines, Ladders, Abseils and more! (Morning)

• THE MEET.

This meet is quite unique, please read the FULL description BEFORE signing up. We will be visiting a slate mine, one of the biggest slate mines in the world! There will be abseils, Ladders, Traverses and zip lines to contend with throughout. The mine is nice and open and has large passages so no squeezing or anything like that.

You WILL REQUIRE a Harness, Descent Device, Cows Tails (Double Lanyard), Helmet & Head torch. You will also require a Zip Line 'Trolley'. These are not overly expensive and worth every penny for a trip like this. Link to buy one is at the bottom of this page.

As said, there may be an abseil (Depending on route taken), around 20m high. There will be several open traverses, there will be zip line crossings and lots of exploring.

I expect to be in the system for around 3/4 hours. The main aim is to enter the system, explore, have fun and then head back out.

We will be running two trip in the same day. This is a morning session and the other will be an afternoon one.

• FEES.
  This meet is £25.00 to join. This includes entry donation to the mine owners, Gerrys meet up fees, Use of my ropes. Once you have signed up please make payment by PayPal to me on [email protected]
• CLOTHING.
  Wear warm clothing, waterproofs and hiking boots or wellies. Gloves are also highly recommended, cheap ones from screw fix, home bargains or similar.
• EQUIPMENT.
  Harness, Descent Device, Cows Tails, Waterproof head torch, Helmet. Zip Trolley.
• EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
  None, a head for heights would be beneficial!
• TIMES
  We will meet on the Saturday morning at the car park area. We will then walk up to the mine, about a 10 min walk.
• OTHER NOTES.
  Car sharing is encouraged to reduce impact on the environment and save fuel costs for attendees.
