Tijdens deze meetup duiken we dieper in de donkere kant van het internet.

Het Cybercrime Team van de Politie Oost-Nederland zal het eerste deel van deze meetup verzorgen. Waar criminaliteit al zo oud is als de mensheid, is digitale criminaliteit een relatief nieuw fenomeen. Handhavers en opsporingsdiensten hebben in de laatste decennia voor flink wat nieuwe uitdagingen gestaan. Het Cybercrime Team neemt je mee in de wereld van deze digitale criminaliteit. Wat voor soort organisaties zijn er? Wat voor aanvallen en acties worden er uitgevoerd? En hoe ziet het traject van opsporing tot arrestatie er uit?

Daarna kijken we vanuit het perspectief van een Managed Hosting provider. Hoe zien dit soort aanvallen er op technisch niveau uit? Hoe zetten wij Linux en open-source in? En hoe slaan wij deze aanvallen af? Zo is ons team met behulp van ons security platform continu op zoek naar verdachte patronen en blokkeren deze zoveel mogelijk preventief. Wij duiken de techniek in en laten de technische details zien die nodig zijn voor het inrichten van een robuust security platform. Tevens geven wij inzicht in de trends die wij zien in het landschap waarin we tienduizenden applicaties voor onze klanten hosten.

During this meetup, we will delve deeper into the dark side of the internet.

The Cybercrime Team of the East Netherlands Police will handle the first part of this meetup. While crime is as old as humanity itself, digital crime is a relatively new phenomenon. Law enforcement and investigative services have faced many new challenges over the last few decades. The Cybercrime Team will introduce you to the world of digital crime. What kinds of organizations exist? What types of attacks and actions are carried out? And what does the trajectory from investigation to arrest look like?

Afterward, we will look from the perspective of a Managed Hosting provider. What do these kinds of attacks look like on a technical level? How do we use Linux and open-source tools? And how do we fend off these attacks? Our team continuously searches for suspicious patterns using our security platform and blocks them as much as possible preventively. We will dive into the technology and show the technical details necessary to set up a robust security platform. We will also provide insights into the trends we see in the landscape where we host tens of thousands of applications for our clients.

With the same open mindset as our previous meetups, we aim to connect people and share in-depth knowledge with each other. We are confident that this will once again be a successful, informative, and enjoyable evening, accompanied by various snacks and drinks!
