Improv is the most inclusive-form of acting, and a ton of fun! A great way to help improv social and communication skills in all areas of life, get comfortable expressing yourself, and meet new people in a fun setting. And it's a fantastic way to practice the art of acting and get to know the local improv and acting scene!
Come wind down your weekend, or have a unique date experience, and watch or join us for an hour of play with some of the top comedic improv actors in the city from various troupes and companies in a mix of different games and styles each week, every Sunday evening!
The jam follows Short Round's Sunday afternoon drop-in class, and drop-ins and is free to class attendees. Drop-Ins and Jams are lead by our acting veteran cast members with dozens of TV, film, commercial and theater credits to their names! Regular attendees also see about joining the main Short Round Cast for our big, Mainstreet Madness Improv & Variety shows on the last Sunday of the month!
It's in a great location, too, as the Mainstreet Shopping center features restaurants, shops and a movie theater! Sunday is Funday at Mainstreet!
About the host: Fawad Siddiqui is an actor with over 17 years of experience, who started acting at Mainstreet but has gone on to play with just about every improv group in the city and to appear in over 20 TV shows, a dozen films and a commercials, and numerous theater productions, locally and nationally!
A graduate of the University of Miami, Fawad trained at the Second City and iO Theaters in Chicago, the PIT and Magnet Theaters in New York, SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando, and elsewhere, and has acted alongside such well-known actors as George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, Matt Dillon, Stanley Tucci, Zoe Saldana, Casey Afleck and Hulk Hogan. He can currently be seen on Special Ops: Lioness on Paramount+ and FBI on CBS. But Hialeah is where is heart is!
As his teacher--and occasional Short Round guest host--Gerald Owens did for him, Fawad has a passion for helping others get into acting and providing tips and info for making it an enjoyable experience!

About the Venue: The Mainstreet Playhouse is the historic theater of the town of Miami Lakes. It has produced hundreds of plays and shows of all kinds for over three decades and has helped launch the career of countless local actors.
