Shut Up & Write!® [Douglas Town Centre]

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 11 on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
11:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
11:15 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
12:15 - (the end) chat / take off / or keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALISING happens at 12.15. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
The Windsor has some outlets for laptop plugs but these are limited, so do try to come pre-charged! :)

Other Important Details:
The Windsor has WiFi. Password will be provided at the session.
TRAVEL / PARKING: Parking on the Prom is available for up to 2 hrs for free. Otherwise, all-day parking is available at Chester Street for £2.70. There is also parking available in several other locations in the town centre.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: the Windsor is in an old building which is not wheelchair accessible. If you are comfortable doing so, please let me know if you are restricted by this and I will find a new location or solution.

GUIDELINES: The Windsor Coffee Company offers a range of hot and cold drinks as well as lunch items such as panini and soups. There are also gluten free and vegan cakes available. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
