Welcome to Norwich Shut Up & Write!

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10:00 on Saturday mornings.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

Please note that we are now hosting two sessions per weekend! To ensure that we can accommodate all who want to attend, please only RSVP to either the Saturday or the Sunday session at first. If spaces open up to either on the day itself, you are then welcome to fill them!

SCHEDULE:

10:00 - Quick introductions

10:05 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour

11:05 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

Be aware that the café opens at 10am. If you show up a few minutes early and it seems completely empty, it will wake up soon enough!

If you would like to stick around for some social time after, that is always welcome.

What Should I Bring?

• Whatever you need to be able to write!
• Bringing earbuds/earplugs may be helpful if you want to block out background noise.
• If writing on a laptop, make sure it is pre-charged as there are no power outlets available to us. The Cactus Café does have WiFi.

Some Important Details:

• We are always easy to find. If you enter the door on the Epic Studios side, you will see us right away. We occupy the first couple of tables as you enter.
• Please thank our hosts by purchasing one of their amazing coffees or a bite to eat.
• The event is limited to 12 people as the venue can't host many more than that. If the event is full, drop me a message anyway as you may still be able to fit in.
• If you RSVP and realise you cannot attend, please cancel your RSVP as soon as possible to free the space for another writer.
• Being late is okay! Just show up and get settled. You can always check in with everyone after the session.
