Shut Up & Write!® Dr. Phillips/Orlando

Join us for an hour of writing at Foxtail Coffee near Publix in the Dr. Phillips area! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6:30 p.m. on the first, second, third and fifth Monday evenings. Note the map might lead you to think it is at Starbucks but that is OLD info. Come to Foxtail Coffee:)

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
Mondays: first, second, third, fifth Mondays of every month, starting in October 2022.
6:30 p.m. - Quick introductions
6:45 p.m.- Timer starts: write for 1 hour
7:45 p.m.- The End: chat, take off, or keep writing (Fox Tail is open until 9 p.m)

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 6:30 and again at 7:45 p.m. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: Just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?

• Whatever you need to be able to write!
• Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
• Always good to come with a fully charged laptop or device. There is also seating outside with tables so dress for the weather if you prefer to write outside.

Other Important Details:

• Foxtail Coffee has WiFi with no password needed.
• TRAVEL / PARKING: Tons of free, well-lit parking! Look to the left of the Publix in the Plaza Venezia.
• SEATING INFORMATION: High and low tables or take a seat at the bar, front window or even outside. We'll let you know when the hour is up.
