Shut Up & Write!® Salt Lake City

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00 PM on Monday evenings. We’ll be the friendly group with the "Shut Up & Write!" sign.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
7:00 p.m. - Quick Introductions: What are writing today
7:10 p.m. - Timer Starts: Write for 1 hour
8:10 p.m. - The End: Chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING: Happens at 8:10 p.m. until the coffee shop closes at 9:00 p.m. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is an amazing experience.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: Just show up and get settled in, then check in with our host after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
- Whatever you need to be able to write!
- Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
- Please note\ Sugar House Coffee has electrical outlets for charging laptops but not at every table. Also, their WiFi is spotty, so I recommend having an offline copy of your writing available to work on!

- TRAVEL / PARKING: There is parking at the coffee and nearby.
- SEATING INFORMATION: Seating is first-come, first-served.
