Shut Up & Write!® Salt Lake City (Avenues)

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 1:00 PM on Saturdays. We’ll be the friendly group with the "Shut Up & Write!" sign.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
1:00 p.m. - Quick Introductions: What are writing today
1:15 p.m. - Timer Starts: Write for 1 hour
2:15 p.m. - The End: Chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING: Happens at 2:15 p.m. There are plenty of places in the area to move to afterward if you so desire! Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is an amazing experience.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: Just show up and get settled in, then check in with our host after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?

• Whatever you need to be able to write!
• Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block out the music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
• Please note, Kahve has electrical outlets for charging laptops but not at every table. Also, their WiFi is spotty, so I recommend having an offline copy of your writing available to work on!

Other Important Details:

• WIFI: Kahve DOES have WiFi, but it can be unreliable. I recommend bringing an offline copy of your work, just in case.
• TRAVEL / PARKING: There is a parking on the street.
• SEATING INFORMATION: Seating is first-come, first-served.
• GUIDELINES: Please thank our host venue by purchasing something.
