Shut Up & Write!® Snohomish

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10:00 am on Wednesday morning!

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

We'll try to reserve a study room or meeting room, but we might just grab some tables in the library. Look for the "Shut Up and Write" sign!

SCHEDULE:
9:50 - Chat and Quick introductions
10:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
11:00 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11:00. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. However, the library sometimes has other events during the day, so please be considerate of others at the library, and please follow all library policies.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earphones if you want to listen to your own music.
There are a couple of outlets for charging. We will try to book the "Large Study Room", but if we aren't there, we'll grab a table or two in the main body of the library. We can sit at separate tables if you are more comfortable.

The library has free WiFi.
TRAVEL / PARKING: There's plenty of parking in the library parking lot.

GUIDELINES: Food and drink are allowed in the library, but please clean up after yourself and respect the space. If there is a spill, please let the library staff know immediately.
