Details

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10 am on Tuesday morning.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

IF YOU SIGN UP, BUT CANNOT MAKE IT: please change your RSVP to "Not Going"! We have limited space in the Quart Room, and we'd like to make sure there's room for everyone at the table!

SCHEDULE:
9:50 - Chat and Quick introductions
10:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
11:00 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11:00 a.m. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

Happy writing and we look forward to seeing you at The Milk House Coffee Co.! We meet in the Quart Room in the back. (We sometimes close the door, but come on in even if you're late!)

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to listen to your own music.
There are a couple of outlets for charging. We can sit at separate tables if you are more comfortable. There are several small tables and two long tables.

Other Important Details:
Milk House Coffee Co. has WiFi.
TRAVEL / PARKING: There is plenty of parking. They have a lot that has several spaces.
SEATING INFORMATION: Please sit where comfortable. We can speak briefly and work at our own tables, but I am happy to sit with you.
GUIDELINES: They serve espresso drinks and have some delicious bagels ferried over from Whidbey Island, along with some other pastries. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
