Writing doesn't have to be a lonely, reclusive journey! It can be strikingly helpful to write in the presence of other writers (for structure, motivation, and inspiration). See if it’s true for you...

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done!

Thursdays at 6:15pm (beginning August 18th)

Free parking is available in the lot at Cricket West. The entrance to SIP is on the west/back side of the Cricket West Plaza.

We'll officially start our intros at 6:30pm, but plan to arrive earlier to purchase coffee, tea, or snacks! Our hospitable hosts at SIP are providing us an energetic, artistic, clean, comfortable place to meet... So, we encourage (but don't require) you to place orders with the baristas and tip generously (if possible).

6:15pm - Arrive, look for our group signs, get settled and order a beverage or snack if you'd like.
6:30pm - Quick introductions
6:45pm - Timer starts: Write independently for One Hour
7:45pm - The End of Timed Writing. Stay to chat, place an order
"to-go," or just take off. (SIP closes at 8:00pm)

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens before and after the event. Writing is solitary, but the environment is not! Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. Hope you'll join us!!

IF YOU'RE LATE... it happens, so don't stress. Just show up, get settled, and start writing! Then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll introduce myself.) If you were on time, please be friendly and make room for anyone who arrives late. We strive to be an inclusive, welcoming group.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Bring a laptop, tablet, pen/pencil/notepad or whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.
