Join us for an hour--or two--of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 9 on Sunday MORNINGS.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, code or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

SCHEDULE:
9:00 - Quick introductions
9:15 - Timer starts: write for 1.5 hours
10:45 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11am. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block any noise in the cafe.
There are a few available plugs as well as tables for writing.

Novel Coffee & Teas has free WiFi.
TRAVEL / PARKING: there is plenty of parking in the lot beside/in back of the cafe. The new location (12/2023) is down the street between the firehouse and Wendy's at 950 George Washington Way

SEATING INFORMATION: There are scattered tables and chairs about the coffee shop. We can try to congregate in one area but may need to be flexible. Many times most of the crew sit at the tables along the windows.
GUIDELINES: Great idea to thank our hosts by ordering something--their coffee is divine.
