What we’re about
The Sierra Club is the largest and oldest (founded in 1892) environmental organization in the world. The Crossroads Group of the Sierra Club serves greater Livingston County in Michigan. Our mission is to get people outside to enjoy the natural world leading to their understanding and desire to protect it for our families and for our future. See our website for more information about our group.
Please support our sponsors: Snedicors (Sustainable Dry Cleaning & Laundry with Free Pick-Up), Heavner Canoe & Kayak ($5 off rentals if you mention Crossroads Sierra Club), Michigan Solar Solutions (mention Sierra Club for special rates), Brighton Chamber of Commerce, BigPDQ, Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop (mention Crossroads Sierra Club for 10% off in store, not combined with other offers).

A $15/year Sierra Club membership includes these benefits: membership in the Michigan Chapter as well as our local Crossroads Group , a 1-year subscription to Sierra magazine, ecotravel opportunities, discounts on Sierra Club merchandise, and the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to preserve irreplaceable wildlands, save endangered and threatened wildlife, and protect this fragile environment we call home!

Join us to celebrate National Hiking Day at Huron Meadows Metropark! This event will be led by the Metropark Natural Resource Volunteer Coordinator Bria Sheffer.
We will start with a 3/4 mile hike to learn about these natural areas and the work being done to preserve them. Then, you’ll get a chance to make an impact by working to preserve a treasured forest ecosystem with invasive shrub cutting. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your favorite pair! Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and off-trail in areas that may include poison ivy (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.). Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water!
We’d love for people to register here (or by calling 810-494-6071) ahead of time, but we won’t turn anyone away!
