November Program Meeting

Details

The November program meeting of the Sierra Club Great Basin Group will be on Thursday, November 14, at UNR’s “Innevation Center” In Reno. The topic: Washoe County Climate Action.

For the last year, Washoe County Sustainability Manager Brian Beffort and Fuse Fellow Emily Stapleton have been engaging with the community, stakeholders, and County departments to draft the County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP).

This plan will seek to reduce emissions and take climate action in Washoe County operations, and within the entire community.
Brian and Emily will share an overview of the draft plans, which include more than 90 initiatives to improve our county's air quality, public health, economies, quality of life, and climate resiliency.

How can you advance climate action in your life and your community? Join us, and let us count the ways!

The doors will open at 6:30 for socializing, and the hour-long program will begin at 7 PM. The Innevation Center is located at 450 Sinclair St, Reno, NV 89501.

Armchair Activism Alert!
Help us urge the Nevada Wildlife Commission to ban the coyote killing contests that threaten our ecosystems and tarnish ethical hunting practices. Please sign the petition here before Nov. 14.
