30x30 Bicycle Event Whittier Narrows, Starting at the Jeff Seymour Family Center, 10900 Mulhall Street, El Monte, California we will pedal around 16 miles on streets and bike paths through the scenic Emerald Necklace to Peck Park, Whittier Narrows and back. Along the way, we will discuss the San Gabriel Valley 50 mile plan to connect the Whittier Narrows with the San Gabriel Mountains, the work done to create pocket parks to support connectivity to the wilderness area, pocket parks to connect the area to Long Beach, the emerald necklace and more. Partners include Active SGV and Amigos de Los Rios. Special activities include a conversation with Amigos de Los Rios on urban green planning for people and wildlife, a discussion about birds with biologist Natasha Khanna-Dang and a discussion about the 30x30 initiative and National Monuments. BONUS: Active SGV will be giving away bicycles. ALSO wear your fav ugly sweater for festive fun. Children 12 or older are welcome but must be accompanied by their legal guardians.

Active SGV is solely responsible for the ebikes. Active SGV will provide its own safety talk for the tour and also supply safety marshals.

Bring: Helmet, sunscreen, water, binoculars for birding, bicycle if you have one, see additional instructions for a free ebike. Also wear an ugly sweater!
