Rock Creek Park Northern Circuit Hike
Details
Come join us as we explore the urban oasis of Rock Creek Park, the oldest natural urban park in the United States (and twice the size of Central Park in NY City!) We’ll start at the Nature Center and hike north via the western ridge trail to Boundary Bridge and return to the Visitor’s center via the valley trail.
Sights include the remnants Fort DeRussy, Milkhouse Ford, and Joaquin Miller’s cabin, the “Poet of the Sierras”. This moderate hike is approximately 6.6 miles with some steep inclines and one small creek crossing. Our pace will be at about 2.5 miles per hour.
What to bring:
Sturdy shoes, hiking poles, water to stay hydrated, and warm weather clothing for hiking in the woods.
