WELCOME to the West Montreal Sunday Social Curling League

NOVICES are very welcome to join us - we will teach you the game!

Draw 1 - 8 Teams - 11am
Draw 2 - 2 Teams - 1 pm
10 full teams , 40 players and over 35 spares in support of the league.

All players and spare's wearing running shoes on the ice must have at least one GRIPPER for their footwear! SAFETY first in this League!
Curling Grippers can be purchased at the Curling Club - cost : $26

If anyone wants to participate in a Sunday Curling match, as a SPARE, they MUST FIRST contact James , the player/spare coordinator at [email protected] - This is NOT drop-in curling but a structured league. Join the league spare list and we will bring you in to the league as a regular player when spots open up!

Our MEETUP'S MIXED SUNDAY AFTERNOON LEAGUE CURLING is now underway for the 2024/2025 season at the Montreal West Curling Club ( 17 Ainslie in Montreal West, corner of Westminister ), on ice - 11am and 1pm , every Sunday , early October to late April of 2025 ( No Holidays )
Bar Services - food after each game - half&half - and all equipment is supplied, Instruction for players and the spares, on a ongoing basis! Plenty of Parking.

Cost for the upcoming season will be $320 per person for the entire season and spares will pay $10 for every game they play!

What to wear when participating in a curling game

1. Bring to the curling club , in a bag, a pair of running shoes. No boots , sandals, slippers etc. The soles of the running shoes must be completely clean, so as to not deposit any dirt on the curling ice. Sliders are available at the club for those requiring a longer slide. Club Curling brooms are supplied, as well.
2. Wear jogging or sweat pants, something loose, no jeans, too constrictive.
3. Wear a sweater or light jacket, and light gloves for those whose hands get cold easily.

And most important don't forget to bring a SMILE!

Most individuals joining our league from the meetup groups are novices, and we are very pleased to have you in our Sunday League. So here is a suggestion to get you started , and to improve your game QUICKLY!
Join the Sunday league spare list, and we will bring you in to spare as much as possible. When spots open up in the league you will be brought in as a regular player, if you so wish. Want to ACCELERATE your curling skillsets quickly? Join the Monday night inhouse instructional league for beginners. The instructors will teach you how to play the game properly, avoiding all the usual mistakes, that plague many of the curlers today. I highly recommend joining this instructional league. Members looking to join the Instructional League on Monday nights at the Montreal West Curling Club should contact Jim Doyle ([email protected]) or Debra Bruman ([email protected]) to sign up. The price for the Instructional league for the year is $372.73 and allows players to spare, once they are ready, within the regular MWCC leagues. Classes start on October 21st at 6:30 pm at the club and continue weekly.
