Hike: East Palisades (Indian Trail entrance) 5-6 Miles

Last time we were there the tail was half flooded! Hopefully this time it will be dry!

We are going to hike the East Palisades Trail on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, climbing to beautiful views from towering bluffs and hiking through a small bamboo forest. This is one of the most scenic in-town hikes in Atlanta. Other points of interest in this hike is a high-elevation overlook as well as a cave!

Meeting time: 8:15 am (a bit earlier so hopefully we all get legit parking)
Meeting Point: Parking lot off of Indian Trail Road
Note: Parking at the lot is limited, and there are "No Parking" signs along the Indian trail road, however last few times I was there I noticed tons of cars parks on the road anyway.
Parking Fee: $5; NOT CASH, paid thru park services website
Elevation Gain: 703ft

Beginners and/or kids (with parent/s) are welcomed, provided you keep up with the pace and do not slow down the whole group.
Dogs are OK while on leash.

Bring: water, snack
Wear: hiking shoes or regular boots; moderate hike; hiking poles are useful

Please note:

1. No smoking or vaping while you are with the group.
2. There is no optional portion of the hike. We all go on the same route.
3. No shortcuts please!
4. We will walk at a pace of around 2.5 mph, please do not join if you cannot keep up.
5. PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS 8:30 AM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6. A good GPS address is: 425 Indian Trail NW, Atlanta, GA 30327 and drive on the gravel road to the parking lot. You will see the CRNRA sign.
