What we’re about
This is a group for those of us who are older, wiser and perhaps a little slower and stiffer than the young people who turn out for many of the other meetups. The goal is to provide a variety of activities—something for everyone—so we can make new friends and find adventures together. We are inclusive and tolerant of all beliefs and backgrounds. From movies, museums and meals to concerts and hikes, we'll find ways to connect and support one another. We also hope others will step up and join us in planning and organizing events. Let's celebrate our age and experience!

See all- Hike in Frick Park and Lunch at Famous CafeLower Frick Park Parking Lot, Pittsburgh, PA
First, let's work up an appetite with a hike in Frick Park since the weather is looking pretty good for Friday. This time, we will hike Tranquil Trail beginning at the lower parking lot. We will hike mainly on level ground, or, if the group is willing, with a short climb up some stairs to the Biddle Trail and then down a gradual slope to Nine Mile Run trail. I will be by the parking with a Meetup sign starting at 10:45 am. We will begin hiking at 11:00, so please be on time. ** If the forecast is for rain, I will cancel the hike portion, so stay tuned! ••
We will go to FAMOUS CAFE after the hike at 12:30 pm. Since the Cafe can only accommodate a max of 10 people, I have limited attendance to 10, but I will add anyone who just wants to hike since that can be any number. When you RSVP, please indicate whether you will: 1) hike only, 2) have lunch only, 3) attend both!
DIRECTIONS TO THE LOWER PARKING LOT: Turn from Braddock Rd onto Hutchinson street (Left, if you are heading north on Braddock from 1-376 at Frick Park Tavern) and follow it to corner of Lancaster Ave, then turn right where there is a sign for Frick Park. Follow the road to the bottom of the hill and the parking lot.
We will head to Famous Cafe at about 12:30 in Regent Square on Braddock Rd. If you are only attending lunch, you can meet us there at 12:30 and ask for the "Meetup group" or "Betty's reservation." More Information: https://www.famouscafepgh.com/
There is free parking along Hutchinson and the side streets, and there is free street parking in Regent Square along Braddock Rd. We also may "carpool" up to the Cafe!

The Mediterranean Grill is a family owned and operated business established in Pittsburgh’s East end in 1992. Eva, the proprietor, came from from Lebanon to the US in 1978, along with her husband, Said and children. Eva was inspired to use her passion for cooking as an instrument to create a career for herself and thus have the means by which to share authentic, homemade Lebanese dishes with the rest of Pittsburgh. Eva‘s brother, Elias, a chef by profession, immigrated to the US in 1991, the undertaking of bringing this inspiration in to materialization began.
