Hi Everyone, I'm going to re-create a sketching/drawing meetup that I have previously hosted. Life got too busy and will get busy again for me so now is the time to build a strong community of people who are passionate about drawing, socializing and perhaps going out somewhere afterwards.
I have received feedback in the past about location and realized many would prefer the central location, however, I'm up for suggestions too!
Right now its difficult to book space because of a security breach at the library. I have to book a space in person unlike the way it was before being able to book in advance online.
What does this mean for now?
Meetups on same day notice!
It will seem disorganized because most people are busy and want to book in advance.
I have spoke to the library and apparently the Central Location is the only location booking space for meetup groups. You can Direct message me as well so leave a comment and I can try and make something work for you if you want to meet up somewhere other than the library :) perhaps a cafe somewhere.
To emphasize what this group is about is a community that can get together and practice an activity that can relieve stress in a stress filled world.
I'm open to suggestions of quiet cafes, I can drive to a location if need be, the library is not the best option currently because of a data breach.
Are there any painters out there who are interested in joining?
The main purpose of the library and reserving a space is to create an area where many can show up and not have to worry about a lack of surface area to work with.
In this scenario, I'm open to suggestions. If your huge into painting, it would be best to book a space at the library, hopefully this online issue clears up sooner rather than later.
I'm not much of a painter so I can see how this would be an issue for some people.
I'm going to try and mix things up, maybe a quiet coffee shop, seating in the mall, maybe an office room, we'll see :) This is also a socially oriented group so don't be shy :) Hope to meet many of you who are looking for encouragement. It has been a long time since I sketched so I'm also seeking encouragement.
