What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in learning, understanding, and obtaining new skills. Our core membership focuses on technology and computing, but we also have a range of different artists, tradespeople, and those looking for a great community space for projects.
We have 2 3D printers, with a fun history.
We also have a modified x-carve CNC machine to allow for milling and quick fabrication of complex and detailed wood projects, but also cutting plastic, stone and many other useful materials.
We've got a great electronics workbench filled with parts, tools, and power sources for all your electrical engineering projects.
Our classroom area features tables and seats to accommodate our interactive workshops and presentations by members, community and visiting makers, and any other people wishing to share knowledge and build skills in others.
The kitchenette, bathrooms, and lounge (with couches, games, movies...etc) invite relaxing, chatting, collaborating, or even quiet time for one to many members not actively fabricating.
With 24/7/365 access for a low membership rate of $40/month ($20/month for students), anyone 18 or older is welcome to join. And even before becoming a member, if you have the "make"ing spirit in your heart, all are welcome to the training events, workshops, and labs held at least once a month.
Before you become a member, you're also free and always welcome to come to the weekly standing meeting. At 6pm, every Tuesday, members and people considering joining, are welcome to attend and participate in the weekly meeting. Topics covered are usually updates on upgrades, changes, or planned projects for SkullSpace, then discussion of projects members are working on that they just want to share, or ask for help with...followed by well, whatever the will of the group decides. :-) It's fun, it's inviting.
