Sunday La Jolla Shores Beach Walk, 2-3 miles
Details
Lets get together for a lovely morning 2-3 mile walk on La Jolla Shores Beach. Also, be sure to wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet and/or are waterproof. There is an area by the Scripps Pier with a shallow running stream of water that we'll have to cross. Your feet may get wet.
We'll meet on the boardwalk by the lifeguard station next to the (free) public parking lot, then go down to the shore and walk north on the hard-packed sand past the pier until we get to the rocks and boulders that obstruct the path. We'll turn around at that point and then walk south to the Marine Room restaurant and then turn back north again to the boardwalk/parking lot where we started. About 3 miles round trip at low tide, and the pace is about 3 miles an hour. Anyone may peel off and end their walk at any point.
THIS IS A Ecological Reserve and Marine Life Refuge SO NO COLLECTING of shells, rocks, etc. from the beach! Thank you!
The parking lot is free, but fills quickly and patience is needed. You can park on the street as well. After the walk we can grab a bite to eat at one of the cute cafes at the shores.
