Hike: Castle Mountain/Rockbound Larch Explore (Not the Full Castle Summit)

My events are always weather dependent. If mix mash of rain/thunderstorms or the dreaded forest fire smoke the hike will be rescheduled.

This is a slower pace aka relaxed due to injuries I’ve been dealing with this past year. My incline endurance has dropped, but my descent is quick. If you’re not willing to stay with the group choose another event.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION:
The trail starts into the trees and you'll be gaining some elevation here. A very uninteresting start, but eventually it opens up. The intent is to explore above Rockbound Lake.

Once at the lake, vistas open up.

Although I would like to do the full Castle Mountain Hike, I'm not physically ready nor is my shoulder to do the full 25-30km trek. That will be next year - hopefully. This is more an exploratory hike above Rockbound Lake.

On the way down, we'll stop at Rockbound to give our feet a cool down.

Distance: 20km +/- (this is what I'm gaging in exploratory kms.)

Elevation: 1,100m +/-

Carpooling Fee: $25 per passenger.

Pace
Slow on incline, moderate on flatish and descent. Will stop to take pictures.

NO EXTREME SLOW POKES or BEGINNERS PLEASE.

Participant #: 6-8 Max

Gear (Mandatory): Park pass, rain gear, hiking boots and clothing appropriate for the season, gaiters, food, water min. of 3L., electrolytes, proper hiking clothing (no cotton/jeans), basic first aid kit, rain & wind gear, appropriate eye protection & sunscreen.

Recommended: hiking poles, gps
