Tuesday Nose Hill Walk 64Ave & 14 St. NW lot
Details
Lets explore Nose Hill Park, Calgary and vicinity.
The park has more than 300 km (190 mi) of informal trails. The city proposed a rehabilitation plan which provides 60 km (37 mi) of maintained trails and pathways, of which 52 km (32 mi) are dirt and gravel and 8 km (5.0 mi) are asphalt.
The park is home to porcupines deer, coyotes, northern pocket gophers, Richardson's ground squirrels and several species of mice and voles. These smaller mammals are the main prey for the northern harriers and Swainson's hawks, which are often seen in the skies above the park.
We'll walk for about 2 hours at a Slow and Steady pace. All abilities and newcomers are welcome. Please be of weather conditions and prepare accordingly. We shall walk together as a group waiting at path intersections. The more we walk the stronger hikers we become.
