Hike Quaite Valley Backcountry trail
Details
Head out on this 11-km loop trail near Lac des Arcs, Alberta. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a popular trail for camping and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail head is located just in front Lac des Arcs, (see link below). We will hike up until find the Jewel Pass trail, this point is 3 fork trail then we will continue a little up to reach 417 mt elevation gain and back from it to complete the loop.

We will hike in group, in a slow pace, no speed demons please. We will stop periodically for short breaks.
Distance: 11 Km round trip.
Duration: 4 to 5 hours
Elevation: +/- 417m
Physical Difficulty: Beginner
Event Pace: Slow -...will stop for pictures & take breaks when needed.
REQUIRED GEAR:
- MUST HAVE BEAR SPRAY
- Micro-spikes (mandatory)
- Water and/or Electrolytes
- Appropriate clothing layers for season
- First aid kit
- Food
- A smile & sense of adventure :-)
- Suggested: Warm food (e.g. soup) extra gloves and hat, Camera.
🌲 CARPOOL: We will met at Dalhousie train station parking lot behind Indigo. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can sort out the carpooling arrangements.
If you are going straight to the starting point, be there around 9:00 to 9:30 AM
🌲 GAS FEE (suggested): $25.00 per person.
🌲 Attendance is at the discretion of the organizer, not FCFS -- multiple 'no show' would render member ineligible for participation.
🌲 Waiver
You are required to read and sign the Slow and Steady Hikers Club Waiver before being allowed to go on this trip. The event organizer will have a copy of the group waiver for you to sign at the meetup location and/or trailhead. You shall arrive prepared with your emergency contact's name and phone number, to be recorded thereon.
🌲 Group Dynamic
We will generally stick together as a group. Participants are expected to wait for each other at the top of hills, junctions, etc. If you have not already done so, please read the Slow and Steady Code of Conduct.

You are fully aware that your hosts are volunteers and not trained guides and you assume all responsibility for your own safety and well-being. All participants are responsible for assessing road, weather, trail and avalanche conditions for the trip, as well as assessing their own current physical condition. You are fully prepared with proper gear and you're physically fit enough to complete this event with the group.
