Introduction to glazing for sculpture
Come and join us for a 3 hour beginners introduction to glazing for sculpture.
You will learn what makes a glaze, things that affect the outcome of a glaze, different glazing techniques and other processes involved with glazing.
There will be a hands on session where you’ll be able to experiment with the different methods, and glazes you will have learnt about and seen demonstrated.
All glaze materials and tools will be supplied, along with ready prepared samples of light stoneware and terracotta clay. Please feel free to bring along some test samples (bisque) of the clay you normally use.
Additionally, everything covered in the class will be supplied to you in a set of notes to take away.
Corinna Reynolds has specialised in experimental glazing and pushing what can be done in her undergraduate and masters, so glad that she has agreed to lead this introductory workshop.
Total cost is £30. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided but please be aware the studio is very cold.
