The book for January is The Hearing Trumpet by Leonora Carrington the rebel surrealist and femme extraordinaire. Described by the NYTimes as a “mind-flaying masterpiece,” I cannot wait to have my brain matter flung about by our 92-year-old narrator Marian Leatherby as she undoes our expectations of time and space.
Below is a great review by the NYTimes if you remain unconvinced.
I've also included a link to Powell’s books. You can probably also special order it from Warwick’s in La Jolla if you want to keep it local.
That's should do it ladies. Good luck on the reading journey, and please bring your shattered husk of a brain to The Office January 7th at 7PM for round two! Yahoozy!
