OC UX Design Holiday Potluck, Design Challenge, & White Elephant Extravaganza!

Join us as co-hosts from 4 local UX Meetup groups (SoCal UX Designers, Friends of Figma Irvine, OCUX, and OCXD) come together under one roof for a festive evening of creativity, collaboration, and holiday cheer!

**Note: capacity is limited to 50 spots, so please only RSVP "Going" if you can 100% make it. If something comes up, change your RSVP to "Not going" to make space for others. No-shows may be disallowed from future events.**

Event highlights at a glance:

• 🥘 Potluck Social:
• Bring your favorite dish, snack, and/or non-alcoholic beverage to share.
• Please label your dishes with any allergens using provided sticky notes.
• Enjoy a variety of foods while networking with your fellow upcoming and current UX and UX-adjacent folks!
• 🎨 Holiday Wish List Design Challenge:
• Team up to design a gift wish list/discovery app to help friends and family find the perfect gifts for the holidays.
• Use any tools you like, including paper, Figma, and AI!
• Wi-Fi and power outlets available. Bring your laptops or tablets.
• Prizes for the winning team with the most votes!
• 🎁 Optional White Elephant Gift Exchange:
• Bring a wrapped gift ($10 value or less) if you'd like to participate.
• Traditional white elephant rules apply (details at event).
• Join in the fun and excitement of a holiday gift swap.
• 👗 Holiday Attire Recommended:
• Get into the festive spirit with your favorite holiday sweater or accessories.

• 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Arrival, potluck setup & networking
• 7:00 PM – 7:15 PM: Welcome & introductions
• 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM: Holiday wish list design challenge begins
• 8:15 PM – 8:30 PM: Break
• 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM: White elephant gift exchange (optional)
• 9:00 PM – 9:40 PM: Design presentations
• 9:40 PM – 9:50 PM: Winner vote/announcement & closing remarks
• 9:50 PM – 10:00 PM: Cleanup (Please help us leave the venue spotless!)
• 10:00 PM: Event concludes (venue must be vacated by 10 PM)

• Your creativity and holiday spirit!
• Provided supplies (more are always welcome):
• Plates, utensils, napkins, cups.
• Design materials (post-it notes, pens, markers, name tags).
• Sticky notes for labeling allergens in potluck dishes.
• Venue Policies:
• Parking is free and plentiful near the Community Meeting Room.
• No alcohol is permitted at the venue.
• Please respect the venue's rules to ensure a successful event.
• Help us with a quick cleanup at the end so we can vacate by 10 PM.
