Hey Everyone,

So this Saturday let's check out a perennial favorite that we haven't officially been to since April.

And for those reading this at work on a quick "internet break" - here are a few fun facts that even some our regulars may not know -

Although Axelrad in it's current incarnation opened in December 2015, the building itself was built in the 1920's as a grocery store owned by David and Gertrude Axelrad. Surviving changing demographics in Midtown and plans to tear it down, the building was eventually purchased by developers with a "RAD" ical 😉 passion for using historic preservation to fuel an area's revival. The carved limestone "Axelrad" name on the front of the building is original, as are the concrete floors. And this authentic space, in addition to being an awesome bar and live music venue, serves as a cornerstone for the neighborhood, creating synergy with surrounding businesses (like Luigi's Pizzeria and Restropect Coffee Bar). Wheww ,,,"internet break" over - don't worry, there's no test 🙂🙂.

So ,,,,,, built on the "RAD"ical concept that the old can facilitate the new - Axelrad is all about celebrating Houston, being outside, taking in some live music and just relaxing !
