What we’re about
This group is for women in Auckland wanting to expand their friendship circle. Whether you're single, paired up, new to town, local, or you're simply looking to meet some new people in a relaxed friendly setting, our group should have an event for you!
DISCLAIMER
Everyone taking part in any of the Group activities does so at their own risk.
We do not employ qualified guides or first aiders on any of our events. The group works on the same basis of being a group of friends who hang out and take part in activities together (including any walks or adventure activities), who invite others to join them on this basis via the Meetup web site. Event organisers and event hosts assume no responsibility for anyone attending any group event. The Group, group organisers, event organisers and event hosts will not be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss occurring as a result of any Group event or in connection with travel to such event, however caused.
When you join a walk or other event, whether or not you have signed up for it on the Meetup site/ face book group site or you attend as a ‘plus 1’ guest, you indicate that you accept these conditions and accept that no legal liability is accepted by the group, group organisers, event organisers or event hosts in the event of accident or injury, however caused.
Participants in Group events are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and their guests and the suitability of any equipment used.
Dogs are usually allowed on walks but this is entirely at the discretion of the walk leader- (and according to DOC/Auckland Council rules for the area the walk is hosted) please see the individual Meetup/event details or contact the walk leader- dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or requested by the walk leader.
Members of the group are expected to show respect to all other members of the group, harassment, racism, bulling or any form of abuse will not be accepted and anyone found displaying any of these unacceptable behaviours will be asked to leave the activity and may be banned from the group.
By being a member of the Social Girls group you hereby agree to assume all risks and liability related to or resulting from any and all group events, interactions with our meetup web site and other members. You agree that neither you nor any third party will hold any of the group's organizers, members, companies, officers, or representatives liable for any injury, loss, or damage to yourself, your guests or any members of your family, friends, acquaintances, children, pets, or property, arising directly or as a consequence from a group activity.
ALCOHOL
Drinking alcohol: We expect our members and their guests (if bringing a plus 1) to know their limits and be responsible drinkers. Those who over-indulge to the extent that it disrupts an event, raises safety concerns about the member or others at an event, or potentially presents a liability to the group, will be banned from the group.
By being a member of Social Girls, you agree that you and your guests will follow the law and know your legal alcohol limit. If told to stop drinking by a venue/bouncer will do so and behave responsibly by taking a cab or Uber from a venue. Further, at the discretion of the organisers, the venue or legal authorities may be notified in cases of extreme safety concerns.
The consumption of alcoholic beverages may impair one's judgments or actions to act responsibly. If a member participates in any action that the organiser deems is harmful or threatening to themselves, another person, animal or property, or whose behavior reflects poorly on Social Girls, that member will be banned from the group.
BULLYING/HARASSMENT
Our discussion boards, event comments, etc. are not forums for airing personal disputes, and doing will result in your removal from the group. Using our web site to distribute email virus or other malware is a crime and will be reported to proper legal authorities.
The Group is NOT to be used to carry out sales activities and anyone who feels pressured to purchase from a member or is contacted/harassed by another member should report this activity to the organisers. Anyone attempting to use the group to promote their business or sell products may be banned from the Group.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Members are responsible for paying their own way and settling their tab before leaving a meetup in a restaurant or other venue where a group tab was open.
Event hosts and the Organisers are not liable for any monies collected by themselves once passed on to the relevant end recipients, for example accommodation providers or eating establishment owners/adventure sports companies etc. Any monies once in their possession are the responsibility of these end recipients.
PUBLIC IMAGES
From time to time, members take photographic, digital or video images of event participants and post these images to the meetup web site. You hereby agree to allow the Social Girls group to display those images without expectation of privacy or remuneration. Members are free to request, however, that a particular image of themselves be removed by contacting one of the organizers; final determination of whether the image should be removed however is at the discretion of the organizer.
NO_SHOW POLICY
Most of our events have wait lists due to their popularity. Not showing up to an event that you have RSVP'd to is disrespectful to your fellow members, makes it difficult for the organizer to plan events and may incur financial penalties. As a result, after 3 "no-shows," the organizer WILL remove you from the group.
