We're currently meeting mostly online, but a few of us occasionally meet in person in the York area. In our Meetups you can participate either by webcam or telephone. This discussion group is about the relation between society and technology. That includes such issues as: the relation between technology and human progress; technology and ethics; energy technology; medical technologies; robotics; manufacturing; space exploration; philosophy of technology; etc.

At the beginning of each discussion in this Meetup group, people can suggest possible topics, and then we can pick one or two topics to discuss that day - in any case, we can go into lots of tangents. We can also consider choosing a topic ahead of time for the next Meetup.
