What we’re about
This group focuses on reclaiming strength and resilience through walking, fostering connections while promoting physical and emotional well-being.
The walking group is designed specifically for African American women seeking to recover from the emotional impact of political and social engagement. By creating a safe, welcoming space, the group aims to promote physical health, mental well-being, and meaningful connections among participants.
Each walking session will serve as an opportunity to engage in open dialogue, share personal stories, and support one another in navigating feelings of disappointment and loss. Participants will have the chance to reclaim their strength through movement, fostering both individual and collective healing.
The group will also include activities like mindfulness exercises, discussions on self-care, and guest speakers from the community, enhancing the experience and reinforcing the importance of taking care of one's mental and physical health. Together, participants will walk towards a brighter future, one step at a time.
