Mahjong was developed in Southern China in the mid-1800s toward the end of the Qing Dynasty, one of many male-dominated gambling games that emerged at the time. The word “mahjong” means “sparrow” in southern Chinese dialects, but why? Come find out!
Under the careful guidance of the Mahjong Shifu (Mahjong Masters) you will get introduced to the basic rules and strategies of this social game. Once everyone is familiar to the game and each other it is game on! The second part of the evening we will be playing some parties in two groups, and winners get prizes! The event will be in a fitting place, Prague's first and finest chess Bar Prague Gambit Café.
As always this event is mostly a social event, where you can go alone and meet people on the spot or bring a friend. Completely solo and beginner friendly!
