What we’re about
We started this meetup group to assist with creating spaces and activities that allow veterans to come together and share veterans culture, connect with each other and nature, and continue building and strengthening our community.
At Soul River Inc. (SRI), we bring U.S. veterans and inner city youth together into the wild rivers and threaten places of nature. We inspire the youth by becoming guardians, teachers and role models as an act of service. The hope is that this encourages youth participants to grow and become ambassadors of our natural environment.T hrough outdoor educational transformative journey of experiences learning the art of fly fishing and fostering community in serene natural settings. Veterans find purpose, healing, community and leadership while empowering inner city youth as mentors. Our program unites inner city youth and veterans through outdoor experiences to build lasting bonds with nature, aiming to bridge urban-veteran divides and cultivate a community of outdoor leaders dedicated to conservation. Please reach out to us if you have more questions or would like to discuss partnership or involvement opportunities!
