Over 50% of the food produced in the United States is wasted each year. Meanwhile the number of people who experience hunger and food insecurity continues to grow. Food Not Bombs is a worldwide movement that recovers perfectly safe and edible food that would otherwise be thrown out and redistributes it in our communities.
For 20 years Hartford Food Not Bombs has shared free public meals every week to protest war, poverty and hunger. We are not a charity. Volunteers come together under the simple concept that food is a right, not a privilege.
Join us for our weekly vegetarian/vegan meal every Sunday in Bushnell Park. We're there rain or shine.
LOCATION: By the carousel in Bushnell Park at 1 Jewell St in Hartford, CT.
COVID UPDATE: People who have masks are encouraged to wear them and everyone is asked to keep six feet away from each other.
