The star party will be held on the football field side of 1849 Park. Please refer to the map included with this event (or on the websites).

Bring your family and friends and join us at 1849 Park on the first Friday of each month for a Pflugerville star party in partnership with Austin Astronomical Society (AAS). AAS volunteers will lead us in a brief laser sky presentation followed by a chance to view the night sky through a variety of telescopes during the unstructured star gazing period. Light refreshments will be provided to enjoy throughout the program.

Feel free to bring your own star gazing equipment, chairs, blankets, and snacks. Glass is not permitted, and dogs are not allowed in the athletic fields where this event will be taking place.

A flashlight with a red bulb is good to bring, but we have red cellophane we can use to cover a white light. Please don’t bring a dog, unless it is a service animal; we prefer not to have dogs around the telescopes in the dark. Smoking is not permitted in the area of the telescopes because the smoke can damage optical equipment.

This is an in person only event.

This is an opportunity for those interested in a South Austin Makerspace to get together and discuss their ideas about who, what, when, where, why, and the how of a location in South Austin!

We usually try to get tables near the stage area of the venue. There will be a psychedelic blue Tardigrade stuffie on the table.

The Greater Austin Regional Science and Engineering Fair is one of Texas’ largest regional science fairs with almost 3,000 students from 3rd through 12th grade. It encourages and rewards innovative student research and provides scientists, engineers and other professionals a chance to volunteer in the community.

Winning Junior/Senior Division projects advance to the Texas Science and Engineering Fair. Best of Fair Senior Division projects advance directly to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.
