408 449-6506 cell phone.
• What we'll do
I will help you repair your clothing, teach you to use your own sewing machine, or repair your clothing for you.
During one clinic, we repaired two pair of pants, one pair of shorts, one blouse, one sports bag, and one reusable shopping bag. I taught two men to hem their own pants. I did much of the sewing, but they measured, cut, and ironed.
I have repaired coats, blankets, pillow cases, and a lamp shade. I have created a lamp shade and an apron without a pattern. I instructed a woman on how to make a square dance skirt without a pattern (her friends were amazed) and one on how to sew a cover for an outdoor piece of furniture. The woman who made the cover insisted upon buying the amount of material that she have computed, but with my suggestion, she had so much left over that she made a cover for the outdoor grill. I altered clothing for a woman who lost 40lbs so that she could wait to buy more clothing until after she reached her goal weight.
I host a vegan potluck board and board games event afterwards.
• What to bring
Bring clothing, curtains, blankets, or anything else that you would like sewn. Also, bring anything that you might have from when you were planning to repair it: matching thread, a special patch, or the piece that ripped off.
• Important to know
If you bring too much, I can always advise you on what can be done and what alternatives you have for those items that are not repaired on the day of the event. So, bring it all.
Warning: If you arrive late you will be given a lower priority. If you arrive more than an hour late, you will be given very low priority.
