SBW - Levee Ride

Details

We meet in the parking the lot by the main pavilion / shelter. Once in the park go straight across the intersection, up and over over the little hill and the parking lot is on the left. See the pin on the map below.

IMPORTANT - It is hot out there !! Riders should ensure they have sufficient hydration and/or enough money to buy some drink at the fish camp. The least expensive beverage there (Powerade) costs $3.00. There are no water fountains. Come prepared.

No cars and no stop lights and the opportunity to see gators and buzzards will be aplenty. The ride will start from the same place as the road riders, but we will ride the levy north for ten miles to Atlantic Blvd. We will regroup, if anyone was dropped. We will then head west on the levy for another ten miles to the fish camp for a bathroom break. We will then head south and then east about eight miles, arriving back at the start for a total of about 28 miles.

This is a bumpy dirt road with rocks so plan accordingly. Please make sure your bike is in good condition because any mechanicals that cannot be fixed on the levy will require a walk of up to five miles to a pick up spot where a car can access the levy.
