Hi I’m Sophian, founder of Southeast Asian Supper Club, Lisbon. I organise supper club and pop-up events around Lisbon featuring Southeast Asian cuisines not found in Asian restaurants in Portugal. These include Singapore cuisine, Malaysian, Thai, Indonesian, regional cuisines and even Sri Lankan. My events come with stories and fun facts about the food we eat, Portuguese influences and how we are interconnected through food.
I recently relocated to Madeira and would like to share these unique culinary experiences NEVER done in Madeira. Depending on the theme and number of diners, the events will be held mainly in Funchal. Dinners will not only feature authentic food from Southeast Asia but also will share stories on the food we eat and how it was influenced with the arrival of the Portuguese and European colonists. A light dessert will be served at the end of the service to cleanse the palette.
I am currently looking for pop-up spaces in Funchal. Do let me know if you have any leads. I am also happy to host private dinners at home.
